Welcome to the HBS website. We are a community based counselling service established since 1988.
This site holds information we have gathered over these years - on what grieving people find helpful and unhelpful; different cultural expressions of grieving; the stages and processes of grief and loss; and other aspects of loss and bereavement which we hope you find useful.

If you are a potential client (a resident of Hackney aged 50 or over who is suffering a bereavement or other significant loss), or a health professional, social worker or counsellor working with bereavement issues, you can refer directly to the service by using the referral form on this site.
